Meet The Team
The Red Devil Fencing Club is composed of approximately 20 Lowell High School students fencing in two weapons--foil and sabre. Each team sends four members plus alternates to competitions for each weapon and gender.

Kendra McPheeters-Neal has fenced foil competitively since her freshman year of college in 2006. She fenced for the Purdue Fencing Club through 2010, where she hosted six successful Purdue Open tournaments and acted as squad captain for three years. After graduating, Coach McPheeters taught in an area without fencing for two years but quickly found her home at Northwest Indiana Fencing Club once she moved to the Region. She has loved getting back into the sport and sharing her passion for fencing with students.
Bob Skurka
Sabre Coach/Armorer
Bob Skurka came into fencing later in life as a fencing parent through the Northwest Indiana Fencing Club almost 8 years ago. Bob is now starting his 6th year as the armorer for the Marian Catholic High School Fencing Club, and is also one of the primary armorers at the Northwest Indiana Fencing Club. Bob took coaching lessons in Saber 2 years ago from NIFC head coach Marc Ryser and began coaching the Red Devils Saber squad last year. Due to issues with rheumatoid arthritis Bob is not a competitive fencer.
